A beating heart tirelessly pumps life-giving blood through our veins, sustaining every cell, every tissue, every organ. It's a relentless conductor, with each beat it sustains us from our first breath to our last. But there's another heart, the spiritual heart . God desires our spiritual heart because it's the core of our being, the seat of our emotions, beliefs, and desires. Our spiritual heart governs our thoughts, motivations, and actions, shaping who we are and how we interact with the world around us. God wants our spiritual heart because it's where we have relationship with Him. Surrendering our hearts to God allows Him to lead and guide us, fulfilling His purpose for our lives and drawing us closer to Him in intimate fellowship.

Your physical heart:

Have you heard the buzz about heart rate training or the zone 2 sweet spot that builds a strong resilient heart? Or maybe you are ready to rethink fitness from no-pain-no-gain to the pace of grace and putting one foot in front of the other with forward movement, eyes up and a heart that beats. When you focus on easier, conversational-paced runs (Zone 2 training), it helps your body get used to jogging without feeling exhausted and dragging all day. This type of training 2 training also improves your endurance, helps burn fat, and reduces the risk of getting injured. Plus, it sets a strong foundation for becoming a stronger and healthier as a lifestyle.

Our 40-day program will guide you in Zone 2 training and how to figure out your heart rate zone, and FYI it is NOT 220 minus your age. Heart rate training can feel confusing and overwhelming. On one side, enthusiasts swear by heart rate zones for better workouts, while confusion reigns over which formula or device to trust.

When it comes to heart rate training, understanding the difference between using lactate threshold heart rate (LTHR) can be a game-changer. LTHR isn't just about hitting a target heart rate; it's about finding YOUR personalized sweet spot where your body can sustain effort without heading into the dreaded zone of burnout. It's like discovering your body's own secret language—a language that tells you when to slow down (80% easy jogging) or when to push harder (20% strength). While some heart rate training focuses on zones based on percentages of maximum heart rate, LTHR takes it a step further by focusing in on your individual physiological response to exercise. So, instead of blindly following a one-size-fits-all approach, you're tuning into the unique signals your body sends, paving the way for smarter, more effective fitness. The program will focus on 80% easy and 20% harder miles. Jogging by heart rate will personalize your training because you will jog with YOUR specific zones - so it will meet you exactly where you are at and give you the right amount of stress to get strong.

That means we'll be building it together as we go through the 40 days. Your feedback and insights will play an important role in shaping the program and making it even more impactful for future participants.




A couple deets about the program so far:

  1. Commitment to jog 4 days a week. The plan will include morning texts with minutes in specific zones. Emails with deeper education on zone 2 jogging, recovery and fueling tips.

  2. A heart rate monitor or watch that tracks heart rate.

  3. Scripture and reflection, prayer and journaling.

  4. Willingness to provide feedback and help shape the program as we progress.

  5. You are given permission to rethink fitness by slowing down and surrendering to the celebration of your amazing body fearfully and wonderfully made, with a heart for God and His purpose for your life.
