Glow from the inside out

March 01, 20192 min read

Yay! GLOW-from-the-inside-out ESSENTIAL DIY + YOGA was FUN! It was community + inspiration + gratitude on so many levels. Thank you to an amazing yogi-instructor friend, Rachael for the yoga flow 🧘‍♀️❤️ We made a natural foaming face wash with honey + oils recipe shared by another friend and wellness advocate Rachel. The face-wash is AWESOME and becoming one of my faves post-event and have been using it every night before my yarrow|POM and Verage Serum. Plus we made a granola parfait with a yummy granola recipe using cinnamon oil (recipe also from a friend). Thankful to be surrounded by amazing people for inspiration!

HERE ARE RECIPES, LINKS, AND PIC FROM THE EVENT!

Stay tuned for our next community event 2nd of the quarter of 2019.

FOAMING FACE WASH: are you a member of the team Our Sole Intent Facebook page? There is a video showing how to make this and tips from Rachel.

  • 1T raw honey

  • 1T Castile soap

  • 2T purified water

  • 10 drops Green Mandarin

  • 10 drops Clary Sage

  • 6 drops Copaiba

GRANOLA RECIPE:

  • 5 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

  • 1 cup Pecans

  • 1 cup Almonds

  • 1/2 cup Cashews ½ cup

  • 1/2 cup Hazelnuts

  • 1/2 cup Pepitas

  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 1.5 tsp Kosher salt

  • 15 drops Cinnamon essential oil

  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup Honey

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil

Melt sugar and honey and vanilla extract on the stove and add 15 drops of cinnamon oil (or 1.5 teaspoons cinnamon)

Gently fold into oats with a spatula until evenly blended.

Lightly coat a few cookie sheets with pan spray (or parchment paper) Spread granola mixture evenly in a thin layer on sheets (it may have to be cooked in batches). Bake at 300F for 8 minutes, and remove from oven to gently (and carefully!) stir and redistribute with a spatula or large spoon. Repeat the process until granola is light golden brown and fragrant; stir the last time before setting it to cool. It will still be somewhat soft and sticky while hot and harden as it cools.

When the granola is completely cool, scrape it into a large bowl and toss it together with the dried fruits.

Notes: Any assortment of nuts and dried fruits can be used, so long as you maintain the same total quantity.

Notes:

1) If you use parchment, you don’t need to oil your pans.

2) I just stir with a spatula, I’ve never needed a mixer.

3) I recently stopped adding the dried fruit so that is definitely optional depending on preference.

4) If I am doing a full batch on two cookie sheets, I switch the racks the sheets are on every 8 minutes when I stir it.
